LUV4DEFLEPPARD asked:
What is your favorite Def Leppard record and why?
By the way, my favorite is Slang because it is a darker more serious albumn and Joe Elliott sing in a more natural octive. Great cd, one that even someone who doesnt like Def Leppard would like.

That’s a good one, but Pyromania is their best.

I would have to go with “High N’ Dry”.
Great old school metal sound.
That was their breakout album, not the following album “Pyromania” like a lot of kids think.
Pyromania just shot them up into super stardom,
but High N’ Dry was what put them originally on the radar.

High N Dry — It’s a raw edge album and the band is starting to find its groove. A must have for any Def Leppard fan. An album with high replay value !

High N’ Dry was definately their “break out” album, but it was Pyromania that cemented them a spot in rock history… I dont remember how many singles hit the charts off that album, but I know there were alot and songs that’re still popular today… I like songs off many of their other albums but I guess Pyromania would be my favorite

Pyromania – great songs, more rock than later efforts
Hysteria – good songs, a little more pop-ier

Definitely Pyromania. Start to finish there is not one bad track on the album.
From a memorable A string to open Photograph, to made-up German-ish language in Rock Of Ages, to harmonious vocals, added with Mutt’s creativity on Billy’s Got A Gun & Die Hard the Hunter make this my fav Def Lep album.

I have to first say I don’t care much for a lot of Def Leppard stuff, not because of the songs, but because of the production…..I found it to be too glossy for rock.
That being said, my fave DL album (and I DO have one) is SLANG….it’s so much cleaner and more natural sounding, and Work It Out is such a cool song.
Too bad they’ve forgotten it, or more correctly, too bad the fans never let them evolve. I loved that album.
