Was there a Def Leppard song that was made up of lines from older rock songs?

I kind of remember friends trying to figure out the names of the songs, and the artists that performed them. While they were listening to a certain Def Leppard song.

I can’t remember what the Def Leppard song was or if this really was true. If it is true, I thought it would be a fun party trivia game whenever friends drop by.

    Yes. It was called “Rocket”.

It mentions Rocket Man, Sgt. Pepper and the Band, Ziggy, Major Tom and I’m not sure who else.

    Hey I found the lyrics.
    Jack flash, rocket man
    Sergeant pepper and the band
    Ziggy, benny and the jets
    Jet black johnny b
    Ah gene jenie, killer queen
    Dizzy lizzy major tom

First answer’s right, just wanted to clarify that “Lizzy” isn’t a reference to Thin Lizzie, it’s a reference to the Larry Williams song “Dizzy Miss Lizzie,” which was famously covered by The Beatles.

Cheetah knows her stuff – she has it down perfect.
